Big Trees State Park, Calaveras County

May 25 @ 8:45 am - 3:00 pm

We will bird the North Grove Trail, the meadow, and Dardanelles Overlook. Species we may encounter include Mountain Quail, Band-tailed Pigeon, Northern Pygmy-Owl, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Hairy, White-headed and Pileated Woodpecker, flycatchers, vireos, mountain and Chestnut-backed Chickadee, nuthatches, Brown Creeper, Canyon and Pacific Wren, GC Kinglet, Townsend’s Solitaire, warblers, sparrows, Western Tanager and Black-headed Grosbeak.

Bring lunch, as this will be an all-day trip, comfortable shoes, as we will be doing a considerable amount of walking, water and whatever else you need for a full day of birding.
Meeting Time: 7:30am at the Circle K, 4469 Escalon-Bellota Rd, Farmington, CA or
8:40am at the North Grove Visitor Center parking lot.
